COMEDIAN Hal Cruttenden is bringing his new tour – Tough Luvvie – to Westcliff, having just extended it for a fourth and final time.

He has already played in 100 venues so far this year and hits the road again with more than 30 new dates, stopping at the Palace Theatre next month.

Tough Luvvie was first performed at the Edinburgh Fringe last year where it was a sell-out.

Hal is a familiar face on TV and has most recently appeared on Live at the Apollo, Have I Got News For You, Mock the Week, Celebrity Mastermind and the Royal Variety Performance.

It’s not only the funny stuff that Hal is good at.

Having trained as an actor, he’s not bad at drama either and has appeared in several TV shows, including EastEnders and Shackleton and has been on the big screen in the Madness of King George.

Hal’s big breakthrough in stand-up came with his nomination for the Perrier Newcomer Award at the 2002 Edinburgh Festival for his solo show, Hal.

This was followed by a successful run the following year of his second show, To Hal and Back, which was also performed at the Soho Theatre in London.

His 2008 show Climb Every Molehill was critically acclaimed, but Tough Luvvie has been described as his best show yet.

Tough Luvvie comes to the Palace, in London Road, Westcliff, on Friday, October 3.

Tickets are £18 from southend theatres.org.uk or call 01702 351135.
