RING the date in your diary for the first of what's hoped to be a series of brand new legendary Seventies inspired party nights hosted by Chickie Wah Wah.

Lemon Soul - which will play all kinds of soul, jazz, disco and boogie - will take place at Peggy Sue's Music Bar, in London Road, on Friday November 17.

Chickie Wah Wah DJ Tim Larke aka Larkebird will be on the decks joined "in rotation" by the Urban Allstars, Paul Housden, Johnny Russell, Mark Lancaster and Phil Lamb, with more to be announced.

Tim said: "If all goes well I’ll hold four or five parties a year.

"We will be taking musical inspiration from legendary Seventies parties such as the The Loft and Paradise Garage and want a welcoming, friendly vibe - dancers not posers!"

Tickets are £3 and available now from Fives Record Shop, Broadway, Leigh and Urban Edge Hair, Rectory Grove, Leigh.
