AN EX-SOUTHENDER is back in town bringing her "post punk electro sleaze" Berlin based outfit Das Fluff with her, on the tail end of a month's tour in Asia.

Das Fluff, featuring special guest Wendy Solomon on bass (the frontwoman of Southend band Angel and the Melodyhorn), will be performing at the Railway Hotel on February 16.

The band have been long established on the post punk electro circuit, largely thanks to alluring lead singer Dawn Lintern’s distinct stage presence and voice which has helped to cultivate the band’s 'cabaret noir' image. Christian Ruland brings cutting edge creative electronic experimentation to the band's live sound involving theremins, pedals, samplers and Kaoss pads along with his distinctive projections.

Dawn says she thrilled to be reunited on stage on this momentous occasion with Wendy AKA Angel Melodyhorn.

She added: "I was a teenager in Leigh on Sea. My first ever gig was at The Grand. Wendy and I were in the indie band Tortoise Shout! together back in the late 80's and we reunited 11 years ago in London where we played many gigs for a couple of years together.

"We both went our separate ways musically and it has been great seeing how Wendy has developed as an artist since then. My own music has evolved dramatically over the last 11 years and I now find myself playing what I describe as post-punk electro rock.

"My band plays regularly in Berlin, where we are largely based and we play in London, Europe and tour around the world regularly.

"We are currently at the tail end of a month's tour in Asia.

"I am largely based in Berlin now but my links with Southend remain strong as I have family there. It's great to see the Railway Hotel flourishing as a music venue after the tragic loss of The Grand, which was always the musical hub of the local area in my youth.

"It is great to have Wendy as a special guest playing bass with us - she recently played with us at Saks (three decades since we last played there together).

"We are also playing at the Dublin Castle in London on February 11".

Support will come from electro duo Palindromes, a collaboration between Al from Alien and Lulah of Tropic of Xhao.

It all kicks off at 8pm until 11pm at the pub in Clifftown Road, Southend.
