IF history’s your thing then you’ll be pleased to hear that two of TV’s most popular historians are heading to town.

Dan Snow and Neil Oliver are both well-known faces on TV thanks to their fascinating documentaries and both are set to bring their own shows to the Palace Theatre in Westcliff later this year.

Otherwise known as ‘The History Guy’ Dan Snow will be bringing his show to the Palace on Monday June 11. The historian, broadcaster and BBC TV presenter – first cousin once removed of stalwart broadcaster Jon Snow - will recount anecdotes of memorable experiences from his very successful career and will also research and include historical facts relating to Southend and the surrounding area and region.

Dan, who is best known for Battle Castles, as well as his Rome’s Lost Empire TV documentary series, is sure to keep the interest of everyone from amateur history buffs to academics and students - anyone interested in the historical facts, legends and myths of their own town.

The show will conclude with a 20 minute question and answer session with Dan. Tickets range from £23.30-£28 and there are family discounts available.

Later in the year brings the chance to catch Neil Oliver in person as he takes to the stage, also at the Palace.
