MARK Morriss, him out of indie and Britpop chart toppers the Bluetones, will be entertaining the crowds in Westcliff this Saturday, marking the relaunch of the Spotlite Club, formerly known as The Venue, which was formerly known as Riga - the club next door to The Cricketers club.

The club has a new promotion team - Soundbite UK - a company with over 20 years experience in the live entertainment industry who have joined Carlo and his team from the pub in London Road "back to where it belongs".

Head Soundbite promoter Daryl says: "Our doors open on Saturday February 3 at 8pm with platinum selling artist Mark Morriss, who is still an amazing songwriter and platinum selling artist who has had 13 UK top 40 hits, three top 40 albums under his belt.

"We have installed state of the art sound and facilities to ensure that our customers have the best possible live experience in an up close and personal environment with some great touring bands and artistes."

Also on the near horizon are Big 10, a full 10 piece Ska band hailed at the best 2 Tone/Ska band in Europe, playing all the hits from an era that defined a nation;

Tyber and Peter of The Dualers; Chris Helme from the Seahorses; John Power from Cast/The La's and more.
