There’s plenty going on over the Easter break to keep little ones occupied.

Whether it’s crafts, walks, nature days, theatre or beach fun - it’s on the menu. Here’s a round-up of events...

*Holiday Wild Beach at Chalkwell Esplanade. Easter Monday April 2, 10am-12pm.

A seashore based wildlife morning for half term will be on at the esplanade. Wrap up warm and head out to exploring the seashore in all weathers. Lots of fun and fabulous things to make and take home. Meet on Chalkwell Esplanade - near the ramp from Chalkwell Station.

Booking is essential as places are limited.

*Bouncy castle family fun, Friday April 6 and April 13, Christ Church, 56 Colbert Avenue, Southend. Sessions will be on from 10am-12pm and 1pm-3pm. Charges apply. Book on admin@christchurchsouthend.org.uk

Easter egg hunt, Langdon Nature Reserve, Lower Dunton Road, Laindon, Easter Sunday, 10am-4pm.

Join the reserve volunteers for the popular annual Easter Egg Hunt at the beauty spot. Follow the self guided trail, answering wildlife questions along the way to win a chocolate prize. Then join in some Easter crafts in the community room. Suitable for all ages accompanied by an adult, £7 per child. Booking essential via 01268 41910.

Easter craft fair, Saturday March 31, the Kursaal, Southend, 10am-4pm.

The Kursaal will be hosting a weekend of entertainment and shopping all under one roof. Events will include face painting, crafters, Easter egg hunts , soft play and bowling.

Easter fun day, Leigh Community Centre, Elm Road, Leigh, Wednesday April 4, 11am-3pm.

Bouncy castles, face painting, egg hunt, teddy tombola and more will laid on.

Beauty and the Beast dance workshop, Thursday April 5, Leigh Community Centre, 1.30pm-2.30pm

Youngsters can enjoy fun dance session with a Beauty and the Beast theme. Fancy dress welcome. Bookings must be made in advance on 01702 716288.

The Wizard of Oz, Thameside Theatre, Orsett Road, Grays, Thursday April 12.

The theatre will host a special Easter pantomime based on L. Frank Baum’s classic story of Dorothy and her friends the Lion, the Scarecrow and the Tin Man as they make their way along the yellow brick road. There will be a matinee at 2pm and evening performance at 6pm.Tickets cost £17 for adults, £15 for children and are available from thurrock.gov.uk
