THIS Friday you can go out, with comedians Ross McGrane and John Oakes

Going Out with Ross and John at The Palace Theatre, sees the funny pair present their first live stage show.

It promises to be a "comedy show packed full of sketches and stand up from two of Southend’s fastest rising comedians, Radio Essex presenters and favourites in comedy venues all over the south-east".

You can't seem to open a publication without Ross McGrane’s name popping out at you this days, as he shoots up the comedy ranks, with gigs under industry heavyweights such as Jo Brand and Sean Walsh, or official tour support for Russell Kane, playing to audiences as big 1600.

Ross has worked with some of the biggest names in comedy including Lee Mack, Mark Watson, Omid Djallili, Josh Widdecome, Adam Hills and Bill Bailey as well as live dates for Avalon and Off The Kerb, including the stand in role at V Festival. He is resident MC at his own monthly nights; Little Smash Comedy in Essex and is a co-founder of the annual Southend Comedy Festival.

John started performing live comedy with Improv comedy troupe Quirkish Delight and has since worked with some of the best improvisers in the world including Nina Conti, Marcus Brigstocke, Rachel Paris, various members of The Comedy Store Players and star of Whose line is it anyway?, Mike McShane. He now coaches The Laughter Academy and regularly hosts their showcases, has a monthly residency at the London Improv Theatre and as is a core member of Oh Yes It Is! – The improvised Pantomime. He is also one third of Giraffe – a sketch comedy group highly acclaimed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival receiving 4 and 5 star reviews over three years as well as "terrifying and amusing audiences in equal measure" as his character The Clown.

The show starts at 8pm. It is not suitable for under 16s.
