"MUTANT disco, techno, acid house, and dub all go into the electronic melting pot with an exhilarating live show as the result", says Hottwerk Records, the label behind Spatial Awareness' forthcoming album release, Transmissions From A Landlocked Island.

The electronic act - a BBC6 Music favourite - will be headlining a night of live and DJ'd music of the same ilk, under the banner Back To Culture, to be held in Southend.

Live support comes from label mate, Alien.

Spatial Awareness - aka Tony Pontius who lives in Leigh - started up as a solo side project to the techno house duo he was in, called Dopplgngr, when he found himself going off and writing more disco and house inspired tracks.

By 2013 he began getting praise from all the right places in the electronic music world and things snowballed.

He has since continued to get behind the decks, put on acclaimed live sets and produce in the studio, with his original releases being featured on Chicago's highly-respected Twirl! label, London's Zombie Soundsystem (featuring a remix from Ray Okpara), Fetch Records, and his label home Hottwerk.

These tracks have received radio play on BBC Radio 1, BBC6Music, Rinse, Kiss, among others, and got DJ support across the globe from a diverse array of tastemakers including Fatboy Slim, Tony Humphries, Martin Landsky, Groove Armada, Danny Daze and Boy George.

Having finished 2015 as an Evening With guest on Nemone's Electric Ladyland on BBC 6Music, and starting this year playing at the BBC 6Music Festival in Bristol, Spatial Awareness' debut album Transmissions From A Landlocked Island is much anticipated.

It's coming out in June 2016 on Hottwerk Records, with forthcoming gigs including a live tour of the UK, and a DJ tour of the US.
