Eight year-old boy injured in collision with car
AN eight year-old boy suffered a fractured leg when he was involved in a collision with a car.
The boy was struck by a blue Mercedes car, in Goldcrest Drive, Billericay, at around 8.50am yesterday morning (Tues).
The youngster, who comes from Billericay, suffered a fractured right leg and was taken by ambulance to Basildon Hospital.
Peter Jordan, part of the ambulance crew, said: "The young boy was fairly perky but obviously a bit dazed by what had happened.
"We gave him morphine to help alleviate the pain, and then alerted Basildon Hospital so they could get a team on standby for our arrival.
"As it was in a residential area and not a through road, it didn't cause too many traffic problems and thankfully there were no other casualties."
The boy was in the road and not on the pavement, when he was in collision with the car.
The driver was not injured.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and asked witnesses to call them on 0300 3334444.
