High speed police chase from Southend to Basildon

A WOMAN and two men were arrested after a high-speed police chase.

Several police cars were involved in the pursuit of the black Ford Fiesta which started at Cuckoo Corner in Southend on the A127 at 1pm today.

The police helicopter was even scrambled to help with chase of the car which ended at Gloucester Park in Basildon just after 1.30pm.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “Several police cars were involved in the chase. The car came to the attention of the police officers because of the suspicious activity of the occupants.

“Police started following the car from Cuckoo Corner in Southend at about 1pm and the car failed to stop for police.

"The pursuit came to an end at Gloucester Park in Basildon and three people were arrested for a series of burglary offences."

A 21 year-old woman from Grays, a 20-year-old man of no fixed address and another 20-year-old man are being questioned at Basildon police station pending further inquiries.
