Car burns next to Rayleigh flats
8:20am Friday 26th October 2012 in News By David Trayner
THIEVES torched a car close to a block of flats in the early hours of this morning.
Firefighters were called to a stolen car on fire in Bardfield Way, Rayleigh, at about 3.30am.
The red Vauxhall Astra was engulfed in flames as its fuel tank caught light.
A crew from Rayleigh Weir Fire Station in breathing masks used two jets to tackle the fire, which was close to a block of flats.
Police are hunting the thieves who stole the car before burning it.
The fire service said the fire was started deliberately.
Anyone with information should call police on 101.

Catburglar. How stupid are your comments? This is a car that belonged to a family that needed it. To have it stolen and then to find it has been torched is devastating for them and is no only and inconvenience, but a lot of expense, even with insurance. Your flippant comments show how much you care about other people, and how much of a joke you see this kind of thing
