Armed robbery on Canvey

AN ARMED robber burst into an off licence on Canvey and threatened staff with a knife.

He struck at Bargain Booze, in Long Road, at about 7pm on Saturday October 27 and took a three figure sum of cash.

He was wearing a stocking over his face, blue jeans and a beige, zip-up jacket, white and black trainers and is described as chubby build and average height.

Despite a thorough search of the area by police, the suspect was not located and they appeal for anyone with any information about his identity.

Anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident is urged to contact Det Con Rory Scarlett at Southend Police Station, Target team on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Yes and rather makes a mockery of the PMs claim that crime is down.
Not my experience on Canvey. Having lived on Canvey since 1970 I cannot recall any armed robberies until about 5 years ago.
