A WOMAN was knocked to the ground by a robber at Southend East railway station.

The attack happened after the 60-year-old victim got off a train and the crook tussled with her.

Her mobile phone and glasses were stolen, It happened at about 6pm on Monday, October 29 when the platform would have been crowded with passengers.

Police believe they may have seen the man loitering around before the attack and then running off after the robbery.

He is described as white, aged in his late teens, slim, about 5ft 6ins tall and was wearing a dark coat.

The woman was uninjured.
