Southend and Leigh roads closed for resurfacing

ROADS in Southend and Leigh will be closed overnight and some one-way streets will allow two-way traffic while resurfacing is carried out.

Sutton Road, Southend, will be closed between North Avenue and Queensway from 8pm to 6am this Friday and on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Two-way traffic will be allowed between Sutton Road and Bournemouth Park Road on North Avenue, Central Avenue and South Avenue, on Maldon Road from outside number 92 to Grainger Road and on St Ann’s Road between number 98 and Milton Street while Sutton Road is closed.

Cambridge Road and Scratton Road, Southend, will be closed between 8pm and 6am from Wednesday, November 7, to Friday, November 9, and on Monday, November 12.

Two-way traffic will be allowed in Milton Place and Trinity Avenue and waiting, loading and unloading will be prohibited on the south side of Westcliff Parade from Wilson Road to Marine Avenue during those times.

Pall Mall, Leigh, will be closed between Elm Road and Marguerite Drive from 5pm to 2am from Monday, November 12, to Friday, November 16.

Two-way traffic will be allowed between Pall Mall and Broadway on Leigham Court Drive, Leighton Avenue, Oakleigh Park Drive and Leigh Hall Road and between Pall Mall and Leigh Road on Marguerite Drive and Chalkwell Park Drive during those times.

I think the one way streets being made 2 way is to allow residents access otherwise people wouldn't be able to get to or from their property without breaking the law.
