THIS man is suspected of stealing fuel from a garage in Westcliff using a car with stolen plates.

He is believed to have pulled into the Shell Sovereign petrol station, in Prince Avenue , and filled a blue and silver Mitsubishi Pajero with about £90 of petrol.

He then went into the shop just after 7.30pm on Monday, October 22 but left without paying.

Investigating Officer, Pc Joanne Andrews, said: "Our enquiries revealed that the Shogun was travelling on stolen plates after they were stolen from a Vauxhall on Saxon Gardens in Shoebury during that evening.

"We’re appealing for any information in connection with this theft, but also anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV should contact us too.”

The man pictured in the CCTV is described as being of eastern Mediterranean appearance and was wearing a blue Adidas jumper with white stripes down the arm sleeves.

Anyone with information in connection with this petrol theft is urged to contact investigating officers at Leigh police station on 101.
