2:01pm Saturday 12th January 2013 in News
THREE men have been arrested in connection with a burglary in Wescliff.
Thieves stole thousands of pounds worth of goods, including high-value clothing and a custom made one-off bike, during a break-in at The Buttery Store, on Park Road in November.
Two men aged 31, both from Southend were arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft on January 9 and have been bailed to February 13 or further enquiries.
A third man, aged 37, also from Southend, was arrested the following day in connection with the same incident and has also been bailed.
Police have recovered a large proportion of the stolen items, most of which has been returned to the owner.
Anyone with information about the boutique clothing that was taken during the burglary is urged to contact Dc Andy Copley at Southend police station on 101.

There is a huge gulf between someone being arrested & being charged and an enormous gulf between someone being charged & prosecuted. If it wasn't for the court system the police / government would just arrested anyone they wanted and put them in prison.
Reading the above story it would appear that the police don't currently have enough evidence to charge them let alone get a conviction.
