More seats on Southend Airport flights to Dublin for 6 Nations

MORE England rugby fans can fly to watch their team play Ireland in the Six Nations after Aer Lingus added more seats to its flights from Southend Airport.

The airline, which operates three daily return flights from Southend to Dublin, will add extra seats on February 9, 11 and 12 to allow more fans to cheer on their team.

Simon Fagan, chief commercial officer for Aer Arann, which operates the airline, said “We are responding to increased demand by adding extra seats to the Southend Airport to Dublin Airport route. This move will ensure choice for our customers flying to Dublin for the rugby.”

Launched last May, Aer Lingus has flown almost 50,000 passengers on the popular route.

Mr Fagan said: “The Southend to Dublin route is a popular route on our network for both business and leisure passengers.

“We have seen steady growth in traffic since its launch last May, with passengers benefiting from an easy, efficient and accessible connection between Dublin and London.

“Equally, with its direct rail link and fast and frequent train services to Liverpool Street Station, Southend Airport has proved to be a convenient option for flying to London.”

England will play Ireland at Lansdowne Road, Dublin, on Sunday, February 10.
