AN INDEPENDENT commission has been set up to look at the future of care in Essex.

The county council launched the body today to look at ways of delivering better quality and more efficient health and social care.

Headed up by Sir Thomas Hughes-Hallett, former chief executive of Marie Curie Cancer Care, the 'Who Will Care' panel also has four experts from medical and voluntary care backgrounds in Essex.

It is funded by the authority but will be independent in its research.
