More compulsory purchases could be on cards for Craylands
MORE homes on Craylands could be forcibly bought up as the £250million regeneration of the estate continues.
So far, under phase one of the revamp, 201 homes have already been built on the site of the former Fryerns School.
Another 117 properties on the estate - which has been renamed Beechwood Village - are currently being prepared to be demolished and more than 400 of the new properties will have been built by March 2015.
In total 1,310 homes will be built on the estate under the second, third and fourth phases of the redevelopment.
At Thursday’s cabinet meeting, councillors will discuss plans to use Compulsory Purchase Orders (CPO) if necessary to buy any of the privately owned homes ahead of them being demolished.
