Thieves break into car...for a 49p packet of mints
THIEVES broke into a car causing hundreds of pounds worth of damage and stole just a 49p packet of mints.
The car, belonging to Sidney Perry, was one of three broken into in Puckleside, Langdon Hills.
Crooks smashed the window of the Fiat Qubo, causing around £200 damage, before stealing the packet of Trebor Mints from inside.
They also smashed the windows of a Ford KA and a Peugeot 206 stealing the radio fascia from the Peugeot.
Police are probing the latest break-ins, which happened between 6pm on Sunday and 8am the next day.
Witnesses can contact police at Billericay on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Of course they didn't break in for the mints - they were probably after the tin foil in the wrapper to short cicruit another car!
Clever.
