Mother facing court for pulling bullied daughter out of school

A MOTHER has told how her daughter has become the victim of a terrifying cyber bullying campaign.

The 12-year old has received threatening texts, Facebook messages and anonymous Blackberry messages in a campaign lasting two years.

A Facebook page was even set up asking people to join if they ‘hate or dislike’ the young victim.

Now her mother is facing court after pulling her daughter out of Futures Community College in Southend for the second time, claiming nothing is being done to help her child.

The girl is said to have suffered a breakdown following the campaign and has been assaulted in the street.

Southend Council is prosecuting the girl’s distraught mother for pulling her out of school between September and December.

Her mother said: “I’m absolutely livid. I can’t believe they are taking me to court because I’m trying to protect my child from being bullied.

“It’s making her physically and mentally ill. I see her sobbing and screaming and having panic attacks.

“How could you send a child to school in that state?”

Absolutely disgusting for a child to be treated in this way and then the council to effectively do the same. They should be reprimanding the 'school' rather than the mother, and at the very least should be finding her an alternative place at another school.

I'm not surprised at her mother's upset, as a father I'd be livid if my child was bullied in this way and nothing was being done to stop it.

I would find it hard to believe the school had not engaged with the mother and pupil to try and resolve the issue before it got this far but hey, I don’t know.

I would say the mother has done the right thing if indeed the daughter is being bullied to the extent in which is claimed. If the mother is correct then she should easily be able to prove what she claims with all the cyber evidence. I would imagine the Council will take all the evidence into consideration, if they dont then shame on them.

This situation would have been long resolved if this child were in Germany.
There, they have school social workers, who can be called on by the parents, a teacher, or the child themselves, whenever there is a problem.
These social workers work closely with the families of BOTH parties, in the case of bullying.
Also with the teachers and with the children themselves, to try and sort out the issues and come to an understanding which is accepted by all parties, and they are usually very, very successful in achieving this.
lf there is criminal activity involved they have access to the police commissioner and will work closely with them also.

Have another read. It explains how in Germany they have a very clearly set process with dedicated social workers who would engage immediately with both sides to try and resolve the issue. The point is that if we had the same system, it is unlikely it would have got this far.

from the information given i really feel for the mother. i would do the same and then some if i found out my children were being bullied in any way or form. im sure these bullies arnt keeping their mouths closed the whole time at school and only bullying when they have access to computers. no i dont allow my younger children access to such things although in the future i dont know how i will feel. but that doesnt mean the bullying should be ignored. always putting the blame on the victim rather than the person doing the crime. i really hope the council see sense and try to help before this poor child ends up being on the front page for taking her own life.

Travelling on a bus this Monday past this school was unsettling by some of the pupils that got on bar a few. Their behaviour was appalling and most adults moved to the front of the bus. One teacher watched/supervised others getting on. It was packed and the conversation between 2 girls was mature enough of women in their 20s. i was glad to get off. With regards to the bullying I'm surprised that the authority hasn't helped get this child into another school. My daughter was bullied at school in her primary years but it was nipped in the bud by the form teacher, so something doesn't add up here

Secondly even if it was the police would have to establish if this case warranted the cost (of even a few thousand pound) to go the trouble.
In the unlikely event they do, they would need to petition the high court, to have the IP information released by the ISP & the media outlet (ie facebook), even then they will only give the area ie southend. + all this takes months.

Company's will not give out IP information for fear of being sued under the data protection, privacy laws or similar. Regardless of where in the world they are based.

The dude you refer to was only arrested & prosecuted because he did it via his own account AND admitted it when questioned.

If he had said his account was hacked & denied it, he would have got off due to lack of evidence.

This school needs to deal with the bullying problem they clearly DO HAVE within the school before an innocent child gets seriously hurt.

Have another read. It explains how in Germany they have a very clearly set process with dedicated social workers who would engage immediately with both sides to try and resolve the issue. The point is that if we had the same system, it is unlikely it would have got this far. It’s quite obvious really.

I am aware of the school and can safely say that they deal with bullying in a very serious way and do not allow it to happen, this is an unfortunate negative report of a school that is doing all it can to prevent bullying.
My child received very nasty messages on facebook from this child and a friend of the family. I have been called names from the family and been a victim of vicious calls
If she was being bullied I would be the first to support this article, however I am afraid that knowing some of the background of this family that I do this is impossible for me.
Sounds like the truth is finally showing it's head, a history of Truancy, the so called victims are the perpetrators, they have succumbed to the press, to attempt to avoid the TRUE STORY.

Clearly none of you know how bad futures really is, I totally believe this mother because i used to go there & i was bullied, i had a cigerette stabbed into my kneck, I was assaulted in front of a teacher & he said he didnt see me just get slapped, I got assaulted in a class room & the teacher said "shes not even hurt" i was bleeding badly, I had racist remarks thrown at me & because i was white it didnt matter i even had a teacher shove me out the office when i had acid on my legs from sciene and my mum was waiting in the front office with new trousers it went on from 2008 to 2012 then my mum pulled me out & homeschooled me instead. I have social aniexty disorder now & i have to see my doctor every week im on 50mg of tablets to keep me calm. So clearly this women & her daughter have done the right thing futures community college dont care about the pupils they only ever cared about there reports & the teachers were disgusting. Echo please email me id happily give you the full story. That school needs sorting or shutting! Incapable!

If the girls a bully herself on the other hand i can see why her mums been taken to court! By the way one thing futures are good with is truancy i missed months and the only ever fined my mum. So for her to be up in court this quick shows theres something more going on. Me not turning up was going on for years.

16- Homeschooled, Work, & have recently opened my own business, achieved 7 gcses in 2 months. Clearly for a 16 year old that went through hell at highschool im doing pretty well. No my spelling & grammar is pretty bad admitidly but hey its not the end of the world. So refering to the get a life... Have a great life & get a job... Ive been in work since i was 13. Thank you :-)

My Daughter had the same problem months of Bullying at Futures, we had no help from staff or there understanding what so ever and to us brushed it under the carpet like nothing was going on. i feel for this lady as i know how hard it is as no one seems to care or believe you so we took it into our own hands sadly, if the lady of of this young girl would like to contact me feel free i would be more than happy to help you and be wittiness to what really goes on at Futures and how bad it really is.
