Police are investigating after vandals damaged a grave in a Sunderland cemetery. Between midday Saturday, March 2, and 3pm Sunday, March 3, vandals threw paint over a headstone inside Bishopwearmouth Cemetery in Chester Road. Neighbourhood Inspector Dave Pickett branded it "mindless damage”.
Car torched: Police received a report of a car on fire in Atkinson Road, Sunderland, at 9pm on Monday, March 4. A fire crew extinguished the fire and no one was injured. It is believed the fire was started maliciously and police are appealing for anyone that was in Atkinson Road around the time of the fire and who may have any information to contact them on 101, extension 69191.
