c2c trains delayed after car hits level crossing at Tilbury

TRAINS and motorists were stuck this morning after a car hit the level crossing.
Just after 10am, the vehicle hit the level crossing barriers at Low Street between East Tilbury and Tilbury Town on the c2c line.
This resulted in the barriers being stuck in the lowered position - blocking the road.
Trains between Southend Central and London Fenchurch Street via Tilbury were delayed while Network Rail repaired the damage. Services had to slow down as they went past the site.
The repairs were expected to be finished by 1pm.
