"I was abused by Jimmy Savile"
A WOMAN has told how she was abused at the hands of Jimmy Savile on BBC premises when she was just nine-years-old.
Leisha Brookes, 45, of the Woodgrange Estate, Southend, yesterday waived her right to anonymity to tell how she was assaulted by the perverted DJ and up to 30 other men in the 1970s.
She says a cameraman friend of her family introduced her to the former Jim'll Fix It presenter.
Ms Brookes decided to reveal her horror story after other victims came forward to unveil Savile as Britain’s worst paedophile.
And she has taken the unusual step of revealing her story in court because she is refusing to pay for a TV licence because of what happened to her.
She told the Echo: “I wanted to meet Jimmy Savile, most kids did back then. I met him three times when he touched me. I’ve had more than 30 years of burying this away, I feel so ashamed to say what happened and go into details. "
Speaking through her tears, she said the cameraman had been prosecuted for abusing her from the age of nine.
She said it had begun with him taking photographs which became increasingly pornographic and much of the abuse had happened on BBC premises at White City.
She said the cameraman passed her around his friends and she had also met Savile on three occasions when he had touched her.
In all she believes about 30 men were involved. Ms Brookes said she had attempted suicide by burning her house down in 1997 with just herself inside as a result of the abuse.
She is also suing Savile’s estate and the BBC for what happened to her. Last week she appeared at Colchester Magistrates’ Court where she revealed she had always refused to give a penny to the BBC following the attacks.
She had always claimed it was due to “personal reasons” and had racked up hundreds of pounds in fines but finally told the hushed court of the real reasons.
fined her £50 with a surcharge of £20, after she explained to them what had happened. She said this was more lenient than her previous fines as she has had to shell out £260 on one occasion and £360 on another.

By all means go public (albeit too late) to shame this awful man but one questions people's motives when they are suing someone who is 6 feet under.

If you do not buy a TV Licence just do not get caught. The only (note ONLY) way you can get caught is to let them in your house to check you have a TV connected to receive broadcasts.
They cannot demand you let them in without a court order and they cannot get that without evidence of due suspision that you are receiving broadcasts, evidence which is almost impossible to obtain.

Are you admitting to not having a TV licence by any chance as you think you can get away with it.

However, THIS story. Where to start? Firstly, as above.
This lady states she was abused by up to THIRTY other men and that she only met Savile on three occasions. That means there are at least twenty nine other men she ought to be suing or reporting to the police instead of only choosing to ‘sue Savile’s estate’
A cynic may say she is not interested in suing or reporting the twenty nine other men as they may not have such lucrative assets.
As for not paying the TV licence because she “refuses to pay the BBC because of the attacks” beggars belief. Somebody has already said they bet still watches the BBC programmes. Well what an excuse. This potentially opens up all sorts of precedence:
I won’t pay my Council tax because a few years ago my car was damaged by somebody who works for the council
I won’t pay my electricity bill because somebody I know who works for the electricity company hit me a few years ago.
I don’t think I’ll bother paying for my road tax because somebody from the DVLA was rude to me on the phone
Oh how I could go on.
(and on and on and on and…………)

There seems to be similarities in how the number of people went from one or two to hundreds echo the case a few years ago of a male TV persented who was accused by ONE person with many many more then suddenly saying he attacked them in that case the guys life was torn appart but he was proven inocent and has slowly rebuilt his life a lie can destroy a life.

In stating that she is making this up you are therefore saying that the allegations that he abused many sick and vunerable children whilst they were in hospital is also not true despite the evidence.
In a nutshell he was an evil man who abused his position as a tv presenter, charity worker etc and just took away the innocence of many children..
Let's just hope that we learn from this and may it never happen again.

I do have a licence because I believe in paying for a service where I do not have to put up with adverts every ten minutes and I believe some of the BBC output is actually good.

stopmoaning1 says that she should be naming the other 29 - do you really think a 9 year old is likely to remember the names of these men even if she knew them in the first place?
Give this woman some respect for speaking out now so openly.
Regarding the BBC license fee, of course she should be fined (as she was).

I do agree that any person that avoids paying the licence fee should be fined,
sorry if my comment gave the wrong impression. Have you seen the statistics re TV Licence fee dodgers? at the last count it was 1000s, I wonder why they don't harass the other people like they did to this woman?

While you are searching (for something you won’t find) you will also notice my comments stating that “IF’ the Jimmy Savile allegations are true, justice is very clearly needed. It was obviously a very traumatic time for those concerned.”
Apology accepted in advance.
