Welcome to Pothole Street, say residents

NEIGHBOURS are so frustrated by the number of holes in their road they want to rename it Pothole Street.

Residents living in Windsor Gardens, Benfleet, claim around 12 potholes are causing damage to their cars and vehicles are kicking-up lose gravel which is hitting pedestrians.

Brian Monk, 66, claims he contacted the council about one pothole which is more than 36 inches wide and five inches deep but was told it was not be classed as a priority.

He said: “Things are that bad in this road we are now considering starting a petition."

These drivers need to adjust their speed, to accom; the road, it's no good moaning about damaged wheels, that's self inflicted, as for stones hitting pedestrians SLOW DOWN !

I wrote that before I had a peek at Google Street View. What a mess! Looking at those concrete driveways dropped through the footways, I expect not many elderly people live there - for long.

It's getting to be the same all over south Essex. Ah, but then Essex County Council is responsible for the roads, perhaps we are pointing our weapons in the wrong direction!

Winsdsor Gardens was dubbed the worst road in Castle Point last year, full of huge potholes but then so are most of the streets around there, so many you can't avoid them all. Get your collective fingers out ECC.
