Jail for man who stole £112k from dead neighbour
A FATHER who plundered £112,000 from his dead neighbour’s bank account has been jailed for two-and-a-half years.
Darius Kersys, 37, stole thousands of pounds from William Carrington’s bank account, which he blew on games consoles for his children, an expensive car, home improvements and a plumbing course.
Yesterday he appeared at Basildon Crown Court along with his wife Inga Kersiene for sentencing.
Kersiene, 38 was given an eight month jail term, suspended for two years, for possession of criminal property.
She was spared an immediate prison sentence because she is pregnant.

I'm glad they caught him, but it would be nice to know a little more about how they managed to detect him? & If they got the money back ?
His wife should not have had her sentence suspended either, pregnant or not, if you cant do the time....

If the neighbour was dead, then he wasn't being stolen from, was he? The victim was the benefactor but then that doesn't sound so compelling, does it? "Well-off benefactor loses money he never had in the first place."

My fault though - I should have said "beneficiary" rather than "benefactor" - wasn't thinking straight.
