Canvey man rushed to hospital after trying to rescue dog from the sea
5:21pm Thursday 14th March 2013 in News
A MAN was rushed to hospital after trying to rescue a dog from the sea.
An air ambulance, rapid response car and land ambulance were called to Western Esplanade, on Canvey at around 2:20pm after the man in his 50s got into difficulties trying to retrieve the animal from the water.
It is thought the man was unconscious before paramedics arrived.
EEAST spokesman Gary Sanderson said: “We believe the man to be in his 50s was attempting to retrieve a dog from the sea when he got into difficulties.
"Following assessments by land and air ambulance crews, he was taken by land to Southend Hospital for further care.”

EEAST spokesman Gary Sanderson should learn to form coherent sentences rather than crash two together in a grammatical word-wreck, if he wants a successful career as a spokesman.
