Have you seen this man? - efit issued by Essex Police
BURGLARS conned their way into an elderly woman’s home in Shoebury.
A man, posing as an engineer, claimed he was installing CCTV cameras to gain access to a property in a street near West Road.
He told the resident, who was in her 70s, he needed access to the property to do this so she allowed him inside.
However, after hearing noises coming from a bedroom she became suspicious, and discovered two men searching through her belongings.
She confronted the men and all three of them left. Nothing was stolen.
Detectives have released an efit of the man who called at the door.
He is described as white, 5ft 10in tall, of heavy build and in his late 30s.
He had light brown hair and was wearing beige trousers and a light coloured thick sweater.
Anyone who recognises the man in the efit or who has information that could assist detectives should contact Dc Mark Sawyer at Southend CID on 101 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
