Unexploded bomb destroyed on Chalkwell seafront

BOMB disposal experts have destroyed an unexploded wartime bomb this morning.

Bait diggers found the device yesterday morning on Chalkwell beach and reported it to Thames Coastguard at 9.30am.

Checks were made before officers and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team returned today.

The bomb was detonated at 10.08am.

The area is now safe.

Yet another example of the erosion, of the mud flats, years gone by these wartime anti-aircraft shells were only found when a bait digger dug them up.
Since the deep water port dredging, and consequential erosion, they are being found on the surface, the mud having been washed down river..

Yet again you prove to be a fool. What was the problem? Was the word a bit too long for you to understand? Words like bait and digger can be complicated to read.

Im glad to be in land, just wait for the erosion to really start biting away, at the entire seafront and the pier.
