HADLEIGH Junior School has sent its pupils home early and will remain closed for the rest of the week.

The school's governing body issued a statement today saying it will be closed from 1pm and the "difficult decision" was taken due to a structural problem affecting the boiler room, which prompted the gas supply to be turned off.

The statement said: "We are very sorry for the inconvenience this may cause you but we have made this decision because we believe the well-being of all our pupils and staff is paramount."

Parents are advised to visit the school's website on Sunday, March 24, for more information.

Though the majority, as before will be sent to Canvey, to live in the new housing estates, Thorney view, and Canvey supplied, not forgetting the vast waste lands.....

Typical of you all bile and insults without any sympathy for the pupils, parents or staff. Think of others for once instead of mocking and enjoying others discomfort.

So why so secretive about the actual problem.

Dodgy gas pipe ?

Asbestos lagging ?

If the problems were know about for a while, why on earth did Essex County waste taxpayers money to have all the schools rebuilt on canvey (Furtherwick park was demolished, despite being 50 years younger than Hadleigh Junior)

This school was obviously more of a priority!

Someone must be proud of that flying cable tray over the front entrance.
