A WOMAN had to be cut free from her car after a collision in Southend.
The crash happened at 8.40pm on Monday in Eastern Avenue.
Firefighters worked to cut her free from the vehicle after another car lost control and ended up on the wrong side of the carriageway.
The road was closed by police.
Paramedics took the woman to Southend Hospital with serious leg injuries.
The occupants of the second vehicle escaped unhurt.
