A CEREBRAL palsy sufferer has been recognised for dedicating 11 years volunteering for charity.
Michael Flynn, 64, of Avondale Road, Benfleet, was honoured for his outstanding contribution to Basildon’s disability charity Papworth Trust.
Despite suffering speech and hearing impairments and manual dexterity difficulties, Michael has helped staff with administration, finance and maintenance tasks.
He went to a special ceremony where the trust’s chief executive, Adrian Bagg, gave special thanks to Michael.
His manager Julia Woods said: “Michael is very meticulous, thorough, reliable, punctual and fully dedicated to his work. He is a role-model for many of our customers. Through his service and dedication Michael has shown a true commitment to the trust.”
Papworth Trust is recruiting volunteers for roles, including gardeners and administrators.
