AS the nation celebrated the birth of the Royal baby, there were plenty of new mums in south Essex having their own celebrations to mark the arrival of their newborns on such an historic day.

POPPY Summerhayes arrived two days early to make sure she could share her birthday with the future king.

Mum Keily, 29, already knew when she gave birth at 10.53pm that Poppy’s arrival was extra special due to her link with the Royal Baby.

Echo:

She is the second child for Keily, who already has a six year-old daughter Scarlett with husband Ryan. The family live in Nottingham Way, Langdon Hills.

Poppy, who weighed 6lbs 7oz, was due on Thursday.

Keily said: “When Kate announced she was expecting,I thought it would be quite funny if both our babies were born in July, but I never expected them to arrive on the same day. It’s very exciting.

“I can’t wait for Scarlett to meet her little sister. We left it as a surprise what sex we were having, just like William and Kate.”

FIRST-TIME mum Reneta Wlodarczyk was delighted to welcome little Sara into the world on the same day the Dutchess of Cambridge gave birth.

Sara was born at 4.15am, eight days overdue, weighing 7lb 10z.

She was the first child for Polish mum Reneta, 27, who moved to Britain two years ago, and husband Emaad, who is half Iraqi.

Echo:

The family live in Hampton Road, Grays. Reneta said: “I’m just so happy. It was a very difficult labour, but it’s worth it to see my lovely little girl.

“I didn’t expect to give birth the same day as the Princess,I couldn’t believe it when we found out later in the evening.I can’t wait to get my commemorative silver coin, it will be a lovely way to mark the occasion and remember the special day.”

MAISIE Wheeler stayed put for six days longer than expected to make sure she arrived on the same day as the future king.

Her mum, Tracey Wheeler, 26, was rushed to Basildon Hospital last night after hearing about the news the Royal Baby had been born.

She gave birth at 9pm – just three minutes after arriving on the maternity ward.

Echo:

Maisie is the forth child for Tracey, from Averely, who is also mum to Paige, eight, Brooke, five and 11-month-old Jake. She said: “It’s really nice to know my baby was born on the same day as the future King.

“As soon as I heard in the morning that Kate had gone into labour,I had a feeling my little girl was going to come as well.

“By the time I arrived in hospital, I already knew the Royal Baby was here, so Iwas just glad my labour was so quick and she made it in time!”

Maisie, who was expected on July 16, weighed 7lb 8oz.

WHEN Lakhbir Paul was joking with colleagues that her baby would be born the same day as the future King, she didn’t expect it to become reality.

Mahi was born at 11.12am on her due date, weighing 6lb 3oz.

She is the first child for Lakhbir, 24, and husband Nandip Bhatra, who live in Saxton Close, Grays.

Echo:

Lakhbir said: “I had been joking around with my work friends that mine and Kate’s babies would come at the same time, but I didn’t actually expect it to happen.

“It’s a bit of history, it’s quite amazing really. It’s not something that happens every day, and you don’t expect it to happen to ordinary people like us. I can’t wait to tell my little girl when she grows up that she was born the same day as the future King.”

EMMA Sheehan and Miles Birnie’s first baby Ryan was born at 9.06am.

Emma, a 27-year-old pensions officer from Rayleigh, said: “I’m feeling very tired. We haven’t been to sleep since Friday night. I went into labour on Saturday morning.

Echo:

“We had the same due date as William and Kate and it took a while. I’m feeling okay, but now I’m looking forward to getting home and getting some sleep.

“There was no particular reason for his name, we just liked it.”

Ryan weighed in at 8lb 9oz.

TONIA Allen, of Bramble Road, Eastwood, gave birth to her third daughter Lacey, weighing 9lbs 9oz, at Southend Hospital at 9.02am.

Lacey’s dad Daryll Green also celebrated the arrival.

Tonia said: “I’m quite excited about the Royal birth. People keep asking me about it, as I was due around the same time.

Echo:

“They’ve put out a commemorative coin to mark it which you can send away for and that will be nice. I’ll definitely do that.

“I’m feeling fine. She’s doing well. She’s a few days late, she was due on the 17th.

“She’s got two older sisters Carlie, who’s eight and Roxi, two, and a half brother and half sister.

They are all very excited about her arrival and are looking forward to seeing her.”

JOANNE Tierney, 28, a teacher, and husband James, 30, a bank worker, of Lancaster Road, Rayleigh, celebrated the arrival of their second child Imogen at 10.30am.

She weighed 7lb 3oz.

Joanne said: “She was due on the 26th so she’s a bit early, but she’s doing well.

Echo:

“We actually got married on William’s 30th birthday, so it seems like things in his life and ours have been following each other’s a little bit.

“Today I’m feeling alright, a little bit tired, but I’m okay.”

James added: “I’m feeling alright too, not too bad now that the birth has passed.

“His big brother George is two and a half and he’s very excited about it too.

He’s very interested in his new sister.”
