COUPLES can now marry at a seafront restaurant with views of the estaury.
The View, a suite in Sands Restaurant next to Adventure Island, Southend, has been renovated with a new, retractable roof and bi-fold doors, creating the opportunity for an open-top wedding venue.
It has recently had its application for a full wedding licence approved.
Head of catering at Stockvale Group of Companies, James Gibbs, said: “After a lot of time, resources and investment, we have created a venue that, in my eyes, surpasses anything I have visited before.
“We have panoramic views across the estuary for those who want the wow factor, and for those who want the safety from our great British weather, we have the potential of an open-top wedding, but the beauty of the glass, if the weather decides to change.”
Head chef is Neil Stacey, who trained under Raymond Blanc, at the Michelin-starred Le Manoir, and starred in the BBC series The Restaurant.
