Man walks off after being hit by train
A MAN who was hit by a train is believed to have got up and walked away.
Early-morning commuters faced delays on Friday after reports a person had gone under a train at around 4.30am at Blounts level crossing in Hockley.
A police helicopter was sent to the scene while officers from the British Transport Polikce scoured the area, but there was no trace of him.
.A transport police spokesman said: “An extensive search of the area was carried out by officers with assistance from Essex Police and a police helicopter, but to no avail.
“Officers are currently making enquiries with local hospitals to try and locate him, and establish the full circumstances around the incident.
“Separately, officers received a report from a local hospital that a man had attended and reported being struck a glancing blow by a train, sustaining minor arm injuries.”
Officers want to speak to the man to determine if the two incidents are linked.
