Arianna's gig for child she hasn't even met
A YOUNG singer is looking to raise £6,000 to give a better life to poorly little girl she has never met.
Arianna Morgan, 12, from Grange Way, Thundersley, is taking part inacharity gig next month so five-year-old Maisy Hutley, who suffers from spinal muscular atrophy, can affordaspecialised wheelchair.
Maisy, who lives in Thetford, Suffolk, has to be carried everywhere she goes.
Her family have managed to raise £14,000 towards the £20,000 cost of the wheelchair.
Arianna, a pupil at Appleton School, Benfleet, said: “I took part inacharity concertacouple of months ago for Help For Heroes. The organiser approached me about raising money for Maisy and I just said ‘of course!’ “I have been in touch with her parents and really want to help her get this wheelchair so she can have a better life.
“I will be singing a for about an hour and plan to perform about 15 songs.”
Arianna has also managed to get items for a raffle at the event from Ciaran Gribbin, who replaced Michael Hutchence in Australian rock band INXS, and Woody, drummer with the band Madness.
Arianna, who was once named Heart FM’s Fundraiser of the Year, has been singing since she was eight and is working on her debut album, recording around her studies.
She said: “I am working on recording the album around the school holidays and at weekends.
“I have written four songs about what is going on in the world around me.
“The album will be out next year and I hope to one day become a professional singer.”
The concert is at The King’s Head pub in Thetford, Norfolk, on August 31.
