POLICE have made two arrests following the theft of glasses from Boots the Opticians in Southend.
A 59-year-old woman and 69-year-old man from London were arrested by officers from Kent Police following an incident in Boots in King Street, Maidstone.
The Echo reported last month how £12,000 of designer glasses were stolen from the High Street store. 59 pairs of branded glasses, including Givenchy, Ray Ban, DKNY, Calvin Klein and Versace were stolen.
They have been released on bail pending further enquiries until October 11 to return to a Kent police station.
