Developer set to lodge appeal
3:50pm Wednesday 30th October 2013 in News
A DEVELOPER has lodged an appeal after plans to turn a home into four separate properties was turned down.
Biminster Homes wanted to build four detached four-bedroom chalets on land at Hillside Road, Billericay, but Basildon Council turned the proposals down because of fears of extra traffic, neighbours would be overlooked and the development would harm the character of the area.
The firm is now appealing to Eric Pickles, the Communities and Local Government minister, to overturn the decision.
Matthew Driscoll, the planning agent acting on behalf of Biminster Homes, said: “The provision of four four-bedroom dwellings can comfortably be accommodated on this site in a scheme that, in all respects, complements and enhances the existing townscape.”
Previous plans to turn the site into homes were rejected in July 2012.
