GREENSWARD Academy students’ hardwork, determination and successes have been celebrated with an awards ceremony.
The Hockley secondary school held its annual awards evening at the Cliffs Pavilion, Westcliff, to recognise the achievements of pupils from first-years to sixth-formers.
Principal Debbie Stokes told parents and pupils gathered at the Cliffs: “Tonight is a celebration of hard work and effort brought about by the outstanding achievement of pupils from Years 7 to 11.
“I know all the staff feel immensely proud of the achievements of all the pupils.
Greensward is a delightful place to work and I feel proud to be its principal.
“Our students are clever, they are hard-working, they do have many amazing talents, and they are outstanding citizens.
"Well done to you all students.”
Musical pupils entertained guests with songs, including Florence and the Machine’s You Got the Love and MarkRonson’s Valerie between presentations.
As well as prizes for work in specific subjects, special awards were made to acknowledge aspects of school life, such as service to Greensward Academy, personal endeavour, helping others, and overall academic progress were awarded to chosen students.
