THE cause of a pensioner’s death, who was found dead at home, may never be known.
Essex Coroner Caroline Beasley-Murray recorded an open verdict at the inquest into the death of Brian Lillywhite, 72, who was found dead at his home at Parklands, Rochford on August 1, 2012.
The inquest at Chelmsford Coroners’ Court heard police were called to check on Mr Lillywhite’s welfare after he hadn’t been seen for some time, and had to force entry into the home.
Officers found his body inside, but said there were no suspicious circumstances.
A post mortem examination ruled the cause of death was unascertained due to advanced decomposition.
