A WOMAN has been left frightened for her life after a man threatened to hurt her if she did not hand over money.

Three men turned up at her house on the 3/4 estate, in Vange, after-dark.

They demanded money from her and used verbal intimidation and threats, leaving the woman, who is in her 50s, terrified.

After leaving empty-handed, the trio fled in a blacked-out Range Rover.

The incident took place shortly before 8pm on Saturday, November 16.

Police have only just released details.

Officers have spent the past month persuading the victim to put together an e-fit image of one of the men.

Police refused to reveal which street the incident took place on in order to protect the woman.

Dc Rob Lewis, investigating officer, said: This woman has been left absolutely petrified and is fearful for her life. We ask people to take a look at this man in the efit and provide us with his name so that we can arrest him and then look for his accomplices who all need to be taken off the streets.”

One of the men is described as being of mixed race and aged in his 20s.

He had two distinctive gold upper front teeth and spoke with a London accent.

His two accomplices were black.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact detectives at Basildon police station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
