FIREFIGHTERS were called to a boatyard after a blaze broke out.
A boat which was moored at the Bridge Boatyard in Canvey Road, Canvey, caught alight at around 12.45pm yesterday.
The Canvey Coastguard team were also called to the scene to make sure the vessel and surrounding area were safe.
A person who had been on the boat was taken to Southend Hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation.
