A HEARTBROKEN toddler is desperately appealing for help after his toy bunny went missing at Basildon Hospital.

Jack Fleet, three, was attending his mum’s hospital appointment when the much-loved toy, which he has had since he was born at the same hospital, went missing.

Realising their mistake when they got home, mumVictoria Fleet drove back to the hospital and searched the car park, but found nothing.

The next morning she rang the hospital’s switchboard and to her delight found someone who had seen the toy, sitting on top of a ticket machine.

That delight was short-lived as the switchboard rang back to say someone had seen the toy being taken away.

Mrs Fleet said she wanted to reunite the pair for Christmas.

She said: “I want to appeal to the person who took him to please return him to me.

“Jack is missing Bunny terribly, and it’s breaking my heart seeing him so upset.” Basildon Hospital sent out an internal memo to all staff asking them to keep an eye out for the toy.

He went missing on Wednesday, December 18.

If you have seen him, contact Basildon’s chief reporter Caroline Tilley at the Echo newsdesk on 01268 469379.
