A SUSPECTED drink-driver has been released on police bail after a crash which injured three people.
The 20-year-old driver of a silver Ford Focus was arrested on New Year’s Day on suspicion of driving under the influence or drink or drugs after his car collided with a blue Rover 75 on Manners Way, Southend, at about 3pm. He was later released on bail until March 10.
An Essex Police spokesman said the force was also considering charging the Rover motorist with careless driving, but, should he agree to take part in a driver improvement course and had not been on one in the past three years, he would not be prosecuted.
Three people were treated for non life-threatening injuries and taken to Southend Hospital.
