COMMUTERS in Southend using c2c trains are the most satisfied in London and the south east, according to a survey.
The official independent National Rail Passenger Survey published yesterday showed 92 per cent of c2c passengers were satisfied.
Passengers rated c2c, the rail operator of National Express, as the best rail franchise in London and the south east in a third of 36 categories.
Managing director of c2c, Julian Drury, said: “We’re proud our passengers have named us London's best commuter operator.
“It’s the focus, dedication, and sheer hard work of our employees that help make this possible.
“We will aim to build on these results and improve where we can for as long as National Express continues to run the c2c franchise.’’
National Express will hope the results of this survey, showing customer satisfaction in the trains, punctuality, transport connections and information at stations, will help them earn a new, 15-year franchise.
The company bought the London, Tilbury and Southend passenger franchise in 2000. But its contract is due to expire in September.
