A PENSIONER remains in a serious condition in hospital after being badly injured in a road crash at Billericay.
The 68-year-old woman has shown slight improvement following the collision in Radford Way on Thursday, January 9, but remains in hospital with serious injuries.
Officers still need to speak to witnesses to the accident between the pedestrian and a car which happened at about 5.20pm near to the BP garage.
The woman, who is from Billericay, received a serious head injury and was taken to Basildon Hospital before being transferred to the Royal London Hospital, where she remains.
Investigating officer, Pc Lance Hutchin, said: "More than two weeks on from this collision we still have a woman who is in a serious condition in hospital.
"It is crucial that I speak to anyone who was in the area of Radford Way that afternoon and may be able to shed some light on what happened. Please get in touch if you can help in any way.”
A 19-year-old car driver from Billericay who was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop after a collision, was bailed until March 9 pending further enquiries.
Any witnesses or anyone with information about events leading to the incident should call the Essex Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 101 or email collisionappeal@essex.pnn.police.uk
