Echo: The woman police want to trace The woman police want to trace

POLICE want to identify this woman who was caught on CCTV at the time that a mobile phone was stolen from a budget shop.

A woman placed her blue Samsung Galaxy S3 device on the check-out counter of the the 99p Store, in the High Street, Southend, while being served, but had then forgotten to pick it up.

When she returned to collect it she was informed by staff that another woman had said the phone was hers and taken it at around at 5pm on Saturday, January 11.

Police believe the woman in the CCTV image can assist with their enquiries and would like to hear from her or anyone who recognises her.

Call PC Darren Wooderson at Southend Police Station on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

why do people walk around with phones in hand if not using them.. put in your pocket or bag then you don't have to juggle it around when in a shop.
someone will know her and she will regret picking it up if she hasn't already.

Why cart a bloody phone about anywhere?

How did we all manage years ago.

Mind you, she may have been waiting on something really important like 'Mum, we've run out of milk'

Or similar.
