FOOD blogger and Echo columnist Jack Monroe visited a single mum in Tanzania in a similar situation to hers.
Oxfam invited single mum Jack, 25, after the success of her blog about living on the breadline.
During her time there, Jack met Irene, 24, who lives in a friend’s bedroom in a shared house and borrows food from her neighbours to get by.
Jack wrote: “She could have been speaking of Southend, where I live.”
