MUSICAL legends will gather to pay their final respects to a fellow rocker from Eddie and the Hot Rods.

Guitarist Dave Higgs will be laid to rest at Pitsea Crematorium on Thursday.

The Canvey musician died of cancer on December 21.

He was part of the pub rock movement in the Seventies.

On Thursday, family and friends will leave his house in Zelham Drive, Canvey, before passing his local pub the Admiral Jellicoe in Canvey High Street.

Donations are being collected for MacMillan nurses.

The Oyster Fleet pub in Knightswick Road, Canvey, will also hold a fundraising gig to celebrate Dave’s life on Thursday February 27, from 7pm. Tickets cost £22 and can be bought from www.seetickets.com.
