A COMMUNITY cafe in Wickford has been given a name and a logo.
Wickford Memorial Park’s cafe has recently been refurbished and Basildon Council wants a group of volunteers to run the service when it is ready to be opened.
A lease is expected to be signed on the building soon, and it has been given the name the Poppy Pavilion Memorial Park Cafe.
The name is the brainchild of Mitchell Fulker-Rowland and Caitlin Ride, from nearby Beauchamps Secondary School, and Neave Kemp, from Hilltop Junior School.
Terri Sargent, Basildon councillor responsible for community services, said: “Thanks to Wickford students, we now have a name and logo for Wickford’s newest community cafe.
“Building work for Poppy Pavilion Memorial Park Cafe is well under way and a lease for running the cafe is expected to be signed soon.”
